The American arm of Odebrecht Engineering & Construction won a public tender to undertake modernization work at Miami Port.
The US$ 34.8 million project will provide the necessary infrastructure for the utilization of new electric Rubber Tire Gantry (eRTG), to optimize and consolidate the container storage. The project will ultimately permit the redevelopment of 20 acres of Port property for the construction of two new cruise terminals.
Infrastructure improvements include the installation of cranes that provide up to 40% more container throughputs, new concrete runways, pavement markings and signage, drainage, reefer rack structures and related foundations.
The American arm of OEC won a public tender to undertake modernization work at Miami Port. The company had already attained an addition to the contract to modernize the baggage system at Miami airport in August.
