On Tuesday (31/7), Odebrecht Engineering and Construction confirmed its commitment to the Business Movement for Integrity, Transparency and to Combat Corruption. Organized by the Ethos Institute, the initiative engages business leaders, governments and civil society to adopt practices in three pillars in the business environment and public-private relationships.

A total of 37 companies have signed the letter and joined the movement. The document adds a set of commitments which the companies should implement within their area of operation, in addition to demanding public policies directed towards candidates, congress and the federal government.

During the event, Business Leader, Fabio Januário commented that “OEC’s adherence comes from the desire for us to act as catalysts and an element to transform the environments in which we operate.” According to Januário, the movement’s aims are in line with company culture and explained that “only a business environment with integrity, ethics and transparency attracts investments, opportunities, sustainable development and abundance for our society.”
