OEC, through Tenenge, participated in a study carried out by ABEMI (Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering) focused on Work Safety. Launched in January 2022 by a working group formed by professionals from several companies in the sector, the Zero Accidents Good Practices Guide addresses issues such as the importance of social involvement in searching for new practices aiming at to preserve life; the magnitude of leadership movements in achieving goals and, moreover, seeking to draw attention to such an important subject: work safety.

“In 2021, from Marcelo Neves’ initiative, Tenenge’s official representative at ABEMI, we got the association to join forces with the Construction Industry Institute (CII),” said Alejandro Castaño, contract manager and coordinator of the ABEMI-CII Program. “This has allowed the implementation of several processes and tools for improving the management of our projects, as well as research dissemination and study from the IIC’s knowledge base,” he explained.

From this program, the meetings that would produce the Zero Accident Guide were held. The trend is that meetings among the participants will continue and this will be the first document of many produced by the group.

“It has been very important and productive for us to attend the ABEMI meetings. It is of the utmost importance that we are always up-to-date on matters related to safety and preservation of the lives of our members. Therefore, we were happy to be part of the creation of a document as significant and enlightening as the Zero Accidents guide,” said Adriano Verardo, responsible for Occupational Safety at OEC and the company’s representative in the preparation of the guide.

Marcelo Neves added: “The safety of the members and ensuring their well-being in the work environments is an OEC premise. On this account, the company is always reformulating itself and searching for techniques and teachings to prevent accidents during the execution of tasks, so that productivity, work quality, and good results are achieved in a safe manner.”
