Hatem Soliman, an Egyptian-Brazilian national, has taken office as a member of the OEC Board of Directors. The seven-member board now has four independent members.

Soliman has an extensive track record in the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, strategic markets for OEC. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Helwan University (Cairo - Egypt) and has 37 years of experience in engineering and management. He built his career at the French Schlumberger, where he joined in 1981 and became CEO for Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Pacific regions from 2008 to 2018. During this period, he was twice elected by Forbes Middle East as one of the 20 most admired executives in the Middle East. Soliman also serves on the Boards of Directors of US-based Exterran Corporation, the Egypt-based ADES Group, and Ocyan, a Brazilian oil and gas company belonging to the holding Novonor, the same group that controls OEC.
 
With this change, the board will be formed as follows: Héctor Nuñez (chairman), Daniel Villar (vice chairman), Ana Dolores Moura de Carneiro Novaes (independent member), Britaldo Pedrosa Soares (independent member), Bruno Câmara Soter (independent member), Hatem Ahmed El Sayed Soliman (independent member) and José Mauro Mettrau Carneiro da Cunha.
