Mr. Bento Albuquerque, born in Rio de Janeiro, took office as a member of the Board of Directors of OEC S.A. ("CA-OEC") on November 15. Albuquerque's appointment was approved by the other seven members of the Board of Directors, with a majority of independent members, formalizing Albuquerque’s entrance at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the OEC S.A.

Bento Albuquerque has a long career in military service, ranking as Fleet Admiral. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ITAIPU BINACIONAL and was the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE). He was also the Minister of Mines and Energy, and in 2019 he was awarded the "Personality of the Year" Award by the Federação Nacional das Distribuidoras de Combustíveis, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis – BRASILCOM (National Federation of Fuel, Natural Gas and Biofuel Distributors), and the "Energy’s 100 Most Influential" Award.

Bento Albuquerque has a graduate degree in Political Science from the University of Brasília, an MBA in Public Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, and an MBA in International Management from COPPEAD at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His international experience includes serving as Managing Director of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), entity linked to the Organization of American States (OAS), in Washington DC, USA, and the position of Military Observer for the United Nations (UN), in the former Yugoslavia.

With his integration, the CA-OEC is now composed as follows: Héctor Núñez (Chairman), Daniel Villar (Vice-Chairman), Ana Dolores Moura de Carneiro Novaes (independent director), Bento Albuquerque (independent director), Britaldo Pedrosa Soares (independent director), Bruno Câmara Soter (independent director), Hatem Ahmed El Sayed Soliman (independent director), and José Mauro Mettrau Carneiro da Cunha.
